Science and Society
Science is not confined to the laboratory. It runs through bodies, collective decisions, political conflicts and emotions. This section invites filmmakers to put it on screen as it truly is: situated, contradictory and profoundly human.
We accept fiction, animation or documentary short films of up to 30 minutes that address science as their central theme or make it present through the conflicts and decisions of their characters. We are interested in works that explore tensions between knowledge and everyday life, that raise ethical or political dilemmas linked to technoscience, or that portray science as a collective practice, full of contradictions and real-world effects.
Narratives About Nature
Special section of the 2nd edition. At a time of ecological emergency, cinema can help us rethink our relationship with nature, not as a resource or a backdrop, but as a living, interdependent reality.
We accept fiction, animation or documentary short films of up to 30 minutes that explore how nature is represented, interpreted or transformed from the perspective of science, culture or society.
We are interested in works that question the idea of nature as an exploitable resource, that address the climate crisis or eco-social justice from a situated perspective, or that explore the boundaries between the human and the non-human.
