Òrbita Film Fest is based on the idea that science and cinema have a lot in common. Both are ways of observing the world, of explaining it, of imagining it and of intervening in it.
ÒFF is neither a science communication festival nor a scientific film festival. It is a film festival that focuses on the relationship between science and society. A place where science is seen up close. Situated, imperfect, conflicted and profoundly human.

Narratives About Nature
Òrbita structures its programme along two lines that define its character. On the one hand, Science and Society, present in every edition, brings together short films that explore how science runs through everyday life, collective conflicts and contemporary imaginaries.
On the other, each year it incorporates a specific focus. In 2026, attention centres on Narratives About Nature: the stories and images through which we construct what nature is and what place we occupy within it. Not only landscape or biodiversity, but also the climate crisis, the city, sustainability, environmental technologies and eco-social tensions.
Because the way we tell the story of nature shapes how we inhabit the land, how we make decisions and how we imagine the future.
